After a nap and a fresh coffee, I added my color palette, swapped out the nav icons, and threw some padding around my name to stylize it a bit. Pleasantly surprised how easy it was to just drop in the SVGs from Heroicons.
I also decided to brush up on my alignment syntax with Flexbox Froggy. It’s a great way to learn the properties of flexbox in a visual way. I’m finding Tailwind very friendly to use, and I’ve been having a nice time navigating around the documentation too.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with this setup for now. Once I start filling the page with actual content, it’s going to be much easier to place everything—more of a creativity thing than a technical one at that point. Here’s what it currently looks like:
The next challenge is getting content into the blog, since I’ll be uploading posts into a database and then pulling from it to show the latest entries.
For now, I’m going to finish stylizing things and look into nested components, since I’m pretty sure I’ll follow a similar pattern for the service cards. Those will be static, not dynamic, so I don’t anticipate nearly as much finagling to get them behaving properly.
